| Following this production, Nick Phillips, the show's composer, staged it once again at Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts, where he is a senior lecturer. Luci Gunning, who was one of our Maids, was also a student at LIPA. |

| Special facts |
Eat Your Heart Out! was first performed by the National Student Theatre Company in Edinburgh in 1985 and 1986, and has not been performed since. This production was a specially revised version of the two original shows. Unusually for The Unknown TC, the same cast did not perform on all nights: the show was double-cast in some roles to offer more young people the opportunity of performing this challenging work. The experiment worked extremely well, with one cast performing on Wednesday and Friday, and the other on Thursday and Saturday. The casting was decided by drawing names from a hat, and as a result the 'Mango' and the 'Pineapple' casts were chosen. |
