It was professional, they used every inch of the stage and they were all very confident in the roles." ... "Overall, this was an extremely well performed musical indeed. The direction was spot on, the set and special effects were brilliantly done, the acting across the board was very strong indeed and the musical aspects were captivating and enjoyable." ... During this production, Company member Sarah Lark was performing each week on BBC1 to try to win the part of Nancy in the forthcoming West End production of Oliver! The BBC programme was called I'd Do Anything. The company had a series of performances over the first 4 weeks of the programme which meant that the only way we could vote for Sarah was to phone in during the intervals of the show! We encouraged our audience members to do the same. As a company, we supported Sarah as much as we could, making the South Wales Echo on a number of occasions, with photos, to show how we were encouraging people to vote for Sarah (and we publicised this show as much as possible at the same time too, of course! Jane's publicity skills were on a roll on this one...). We had flyers printed and circulated them to the public, but also tucked one into each show programme. Sarah made it to show 6, when she was eliminated, but we were very excited and proud both of and for her. Here's the flyer. (jpg) |
